Avocado oil is also rich in vitamins A, D, and E, as well as fatty acids that can help to nourish and moisturize, and protect skin making it a powerful ingredient when bought is it’s purest cold-pressed form.

So cold-pressed avocado oil provides these nutrients to the skin without adding any further ingredients. What are the benefits of cold pressed avocado oil for skin care?

Avocado oil is safe & suitable to use daily or as needed for all skin types, including sensitive and dry skin, as well as for people who suffer with acne or psoriasis.

There are a number of ways to utilise this incredible oil in your routine.

Here are just a handful of benefits of cold-pressed avocado oil for your skin:

Amazing Moisturiser:

Avocado oil is an excellent moisturizer for dry, chapped and aging skin.

It is high in vitamins A, D and E, which are easily absorbed by the skin and provide natural protection.

The oil acts as a great hydrator and has an exceptionally high linolenic content, which means it is great for those with oily skin as it does not clog pores and is a non-greasy oil that absorbs quickly into the skin.

It can even be used to moisturise hair & scalp too!

Anti-aging Properties:

The first signs of aging tend to appear on the skin. Our skin is commonly the first noticeable area of our bodies to show its age, so naturally we’re all eager to slow the aging process.

Fortunately, avocados are packed with fatty acids which helps skin retain its elasticity, keeping wrinkles at bay!

Avocados are loaded with healthy fats that are known to have fantastic anti-aging, anti-inflammatory properties.

Helps Improve And Heal Skin Conditions:

Avocado oil is a rich source of sterols and triglycerides. You don’t need to know a lot about those, other than they do wonders to help repair skin cell membranes damaged by sun exposure and natural environmental pollution, stopping them from over-releasing sebum.

Vitamins A, D, and E, then work to help calm inflammation and control the production of sebum. Plus, the fatty acids in avocado oil help to soothe flare-ups, leaving you a less greasy complexion.

The tremendous moisturising properties are known to help prevent and relieve dry, irritated, and flaky skin associated with severe eczema and psoriasis.

Cold Pressed Avocado Oil Is Packed With Vitamin E:

Vitamin E plays a vital role in skin care properties, such as providing antioxidants to the skin, speeding up the wound healing process, and also helps in removing dead skin cells.

Vitamin E also lubricates the skin, maintains the skin’s elasticity, and keeps the skin from getting dry. Yet another fantastic moisturising property!

Protects from UV Rays:

We all know aloe vera to be one of most popular ingredients to protect from UV and soothe a bad sunburn. Now your favourite guacamole ingredient is stepping up its place.

Avocado oil contains natural antioxidants that protects your skin from the damaging effects of ultraviolet rays and soothes sunburn.

This oil works just as well in comparison to other popular oils and ranks in around SPF 15.

What are the best ways to use cold pressed avocado oil?

There are numerous ways to incorporate the benefits of cold pressed avocado oil into your beauty and skincare regimen.

Here are some of our favourite ways to use cold-pressed avocado oil:

As A Moisturizer:

We’ve talked about this a lot so far, so here are the details.

Cold pressed avocado oil is a great skin moisturizer because it doesn’t clog pores and is easily absorbed by the skin. And contains vitamins, minerals, lecithin and potassium, which are all good for the skin.

Despite the fact that it’s an oil, it’s a dry oil, and it has a water-like consistency. With a dry oil, you won’t feel it running down your face and off your body, so it won’t make you feel greasy.

In its purest form it is a very effective oil to use on its own as a moisturiser and it can be applied all over the body to keep skin soft.

It can also be combined with other essential oils such as coconut or almond oil to massage into your skin after a shower or bath to apply moisture in order to keep skin healthy, glowing and hydrated.

As A Face Mask:

Avocado oil has become quite popular in face masks lately, and there are just a few reasons why.

As we already mentioned, the oil is rich in vitamin E, which can help reverse the degenerative changes seen with aging.

Second, it has a very light texture that allows it to penetrate the skin easily, which is always a plus for a face oil.

Third, it has a high concentration of phytonutrients that is gentle enough for sensitive skin, yet strong enough to help reverse skin damage.

You can just add 1-2 drops of cold pressed avocado oil to your face mask for smooth hydrated skin.

As A Lip Balm:

Not only is it great for dry skin, but also for dry and chapped lips.

As it’s such a great moisturizer and hydrator, it effectively absorbs into the lips and provides lasting hydration – leaving you with softer, more supple lips!

We highly recommend an avocado based lip balm or using 1-2 drops of avocado oil in the mornings during winter to beat the cold chapped lips effect.

For Scalp Treatment:

Avocado oil has become popular as a treatment for hair because of it’s high amount of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

These nutrients are known to repair damaged hair, strengthen hair follicles, and stimulate hair growth.

The omega 9 fatty acids found in avocado oil moisturize the scalp and hair, preventing dryness.

The oil makes a fantastic light massage oil to use before a shower, or to massage in and leave overnight.

Cold pressed avocado oil for hair care:

Avocado oil is a great natural hair care product. It can be used as a moisturizer, conditioner, and deep conditioner.

It is rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It is also high in oleic acid and linoleic acid, which are both essential fatty acids that help keep the hair healthy and shiny.

Avocado oil also contains linolenic acid, which is an omega-6 fatty acid that is not found in many other oils. This helps to keep the hair’s moisture level balanced.

Avocado oil can be used as a hot oil treatment or a cold oil treatment. In both cases, the oil can be applied to wet hair and left for about 15 minutes. You can then wash your hair with a mild shampoo to reap the benefits of the treatment.

Or if you don’t want to use the pure oil, you can always shop around for a cold-pressed avocado based shampoo or conditioner.

What should I look for when buying cold pressed avocado oil?

There are many many brands of cold pressed avocado oil on the market now, and it can be difficult to choose the best one.

Here are our tips to help you find a high-quality oil:

Check the label to make sure the oil is cold-pressed. This is a process that extracts the oil without using heat, which can damage the nutrients in the oil.

Look for an oil that is 100% pure and has no added chemicals or preservatives.

Choose an oil that is organic and non-GMO if possible.

Avoid oils that are refined, as this process strips away many of the beneficial properties of the oil.

Risks of avocado oil for skin care:

If you have allergies, or your skin is very sensitive, it’s important to test avocado oil on a small area of your body before using it regularly.

If you’ve had positive results using something like coconut oil on your skin then avocado oil should be a safe bet as well.

After all, avocado oil is less occlusive than coconut oil, so it shouldn’t contribute to clogging pores or irritating any breakouts.

But it never hurts to test anyway.

What’s the verdict on cold pressed avocado oil?

When considering whether or not it’s worth using in your daily routine.

Avocado oil is a great moisturizer for your skin, and there are many cosmetic and skincare brands who have already recognized it’s benefits. Nonetheless, in order to see long-term results, you’ll want to use it consistently.

If you’re suffering from some sort of skin problem, such as dryness or eczema, you will notice a small effect within just a few days.

If the skin concern is something that requires a longer treatment period, like acne, or if your goal is to see if the avocado oil can help diminish aging signs too, then you’re going to need to be consistent with your use to really see obvious results.

So go ahead and give avocado oil a try – you won’t regret it!
